The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree with a Transportation focus, Pr.Eng registration, and 8+ years in transportation engineering including design, planning, and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation specialization.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) with ECSA is required.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering including design, planning, and project management.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Transportation Engineer to join their established team in Vereeniging . This role is central to the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects that enhance mobility and connectivity within the region. You will take the lead on traffic studies, road design, intersection improvements, and public transit systems, working closely with municipal authorities and development partners. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of transportation engineering principles, traffic modeling, and project management, coupled with a commitment to developing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation networks in Gauteng . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, arterial roads, and urban street networks.
• Conduct comprehensive traffic impact analyses, traffic modeling, and capacity studies.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents for transportation projects.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications, ensuring successful project delivery.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior transportation engineers and technicians.
• Ensure designs comply with national and provincial transportation standards and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in transportation engineering , encompassing design, planning, and project management.
• Proficiency in transportation planning and design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PTV Vissim, or Synchro.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, road design standards, and geometric design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
