Job description

Vacancy: Senior Town Planner (PR Registered)

Location: Vereeniging/Hybrid

Position: Full-time

Experience Required: 5+ years post-registration

Registration: SACPLAN (Pr. Pln) – Mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage complex town planning and land use applications

Engage with municipal, metro, and provincial authorities

Attend and represent projects at planning tribunal hearings

Oversee public participation processes

Guide and mentor junior planning staff

Conduct research on IDPs, SDFs, and zoning schemes

Coordinate with architects, consultants, and stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Town or Urban Planning

Professional Registration with SACPLAN (Pr. Pln)

5+ years post-registration experience

Strong knowledge of SPLUMA and related planning legislation

Proficient in Windeed, 1Map, and planning tools

Excellent report writing, project management, and communication skills
