Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Engineer specializing in Radio Access Networks (RAN) to join our Randburg team. You will design, optimize, and manage 4G/5G RAN deployments, ensuring strong coverage and performance within a cutting-edge mobile network.

You will drive drive tests, analysis of KPI data, and collaboration with core network teams, while mentoring junior engineers. A Bachelor's in EE/Telecom and 7+ years in RAN are required; Open RAN and Massive MIMO

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on RAN engineering experience in 3G/4G-LTE/5G.
• Knowledge of RAN architecture, protocols (BGP, OSPF), and KPIs.
• Experience with RAN planning and optimization tools.
• Familiarity with radio propagation and antenna theory.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement RAN solutions including site acquisition and configuration.
• Optimize RAN performance to enhance capacity, coverage, and user experience.
• Troubleshoot RAN issues including interference, handover problems, and performance degradation.
