Job summary

African Safari Group is seeking a seasoned technology leader to head the technology function. You will set direction, make architecture decisions, manage vendors and partners, and actively contribute technically.

With a lean team today, you will build, troubleshoot and ship alongside your engineers, owning the CRM, server infrastructure, AI and data projects. The CEO will rely on you for scoping new platforms and calculating tech investments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or systems architecture, with leadership experience.
• Strong hands-on full-stack or backend development capability (PHP, Python, Node.js).
• Experience managing Linux servers and cloud infrastructure (DigitalOcean, Linode or similar).
• Strong database expertise with PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server.
• Proven track record leading small engineering teams and delivering hands-on.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on and practical.

Responsibilities

• Own Blaze CRM architecture, stability, enhancements and long-term roadmap.
• Oversee 20+ WordPress sites across multiple cloud servers; ensure performance and security.
• Lead AI & Automation projects and data pipelines using OpenClaw, Claude and Python.
• Oversee the rates extraction and booking engine platform under active development.
• Establish technology governance across Node.js, PHP, Python, PostgreSQL and related tech.
• Mentor and grow a small engineering team; plan for future hiring as the function scales.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
