Our client specializes in steel and timber fixtures and fittings for the retail sector. With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, they are known for delivering high-quality, tailored solutions to top retail brands.

The Technical Drawing Department is the heartbeat of operations—transforming client ideas into precise, production-ready designs.

To create detailed, accurate technical manufacturing drawings in both 2D and 3D using SolidWorks, supporting the production of steel and timber shopfitting components.

The draughtsman will collaborate across project management, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless translation from design to delivery.

Requirements

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technical drawing role within a manufacturing or shopfitting environment.
• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (2D & 3D).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to steel and timber.
• Experience creating CNC-ready programs and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate client renders, concept sketches, and architectural drawings into detailed SolidWorks models (2D and 3D).
• Generate accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cutting lists, and CNC programs for manufacturing.
• Prepare technical drawings for client approvals and internal manufacturing.
• Liaise with project managers and production staff to ensure alignment with technical specifications and timelines.
• Collaborate with fellow draughtsmen to uphold drawing standards and knowledge sharing.
• Verify and quality-check all drawings to ensure compliance with client specs and internal standards.
• Troubleshoot drawing discrepancies swiftly and accurately.
• Suggest and implement improvements to streamline drawing and manufacturing processes.
• Contribute to the evolution of departmental best practices and technical drawing standards.
