Senior Technical Draughtsman

Requirement: SolidWorks Expert.

Platinum Talent, on behalf of a leading shopfitting manufacturer, is recruiting a Senior Technical Draughtsman. Our client specializes in steel and timber fixtures and fittings for the retail sector.

With a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, they are known for delivering high-quality, tailored solutions to top retail brands. The Technical Drawing Department is the heartbeat of operations—transforming client ideas into precise, production-ready designs. To create detailed, accurate technical manufacturing drawings in both 2D and 3D using SolidWorks, supporting the production of steel and timber shopfitting components.

The draughtsman will collaborate across project management, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless translation from design to delivery.

Products Designed & Manufactured:

1. Steel: Racks, rails, gondolas, pegs, bars, brackets, and custom fixtures.
2. Timber: POS counters, display plinths, retail units (cosmetics, jewellery, etc.).

Requirements:

1. Qualifications & Experience:
2. Minimum 5 years' experience in a technical drawing role within a manufacturing or shopfitting environment.
3. Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (2D & 3D).
4. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to steel and timber.
5. Experience creating CNC-ready programs and technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Drawing & Design:
2. Translate client renders, concept sketches, and architectural drawings into detailed SolidWorks models (2D and 3D).
3. Generate accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cutting lists, and CNC programs for manufacturing.
4. Prepare technical drawings for client approvals and internal manufacturing.
