Qualifications

• More than 7 years tailings engineering experience.
• BEng or BScEng in Civil Engineering as minimum.
• Postgraduate experience in geotechnical engineering advantageous.
• Registered Professional Engineer with ECSA.
• Strong soil mechanics knowledge and CPTu interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule tailings projects and manage field inspections.
• Oversee surveillance of tailings storage facilities and return water dams.
• Assist Engineer of Record with annual audit inspections.
• Travel to sites in SA, Tanzania, and West Africa for inspections.
• Lead design of new tailings facilities and associated infrastructure.
• Mentor juniors and coordinate team work.
• Maintain knowledge on latest tailings industry developments.
