Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in system architecture and design.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing complex IT systems (on-premises and cloud).
• Strong knowledge of networking, virtualization, and security best practices.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate across departments.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the renewable energy sector, is looking for a seasoned Senior Systems Architect to design and implement complex IT systems that support their innovative operations. This role is based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, and offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending essential in-office collaboration with flexible remote work. The Senior Systems Architect will be responsible for the overall design and integrity of our client's IT systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and performant. You will work closely with various departments to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions, playing a pivotal role in shaping the technological future of the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect scalable, reliable, and secure IT systems, including server infrastructure, networks, and applications.
• Develop architectural blueprints, standards, and guidelines for system implementation and integration.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve system performance and capabilities.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure successful deployment and maintenance of systems.

Requirements

• Experience with database technologies and application integration patterns.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
• Familiarity with IT security principles and best practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, MCSE, or cloud certifications are a plus.
