Placements24 is partnering with a leading technology consultancy to appoint a Senior Enterprise Solutions Architect. This is a fully remote, South Africa–wide role focused on designing scalable cloud-based solutions and guiding large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

You will lead architecture strategies, evaluate technologies, mentor junior architects, and ensure secure, high-availability systems while collaborating with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of enterprise/solutions architecture experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices.
• TOGAF certification desirable and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and present comprehensive enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps.
• Design and document scalable, high-availability, and secure cloud-based solutions using best practices.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of appropriate technologies, platforms, and tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, infrastructure, and security to ensure successful solution implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from conception to deployment and ongoing support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology innovation to enhance business capabilities.
• Conduct architectural reviews and ensure adherence to established standard and guidelines.
• Mentor junior architects and provide technical expertise to project teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (8+ years) as an Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar role, with a strong focus with designing complex enterprise-level systems.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API design, and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
• Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholder at all levels.
• Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Professional certifications in architecture (e.g., TOGAF) are highly desirable.
