Job summary

Reverside is seeking a Senior Systems Analyst in Johannesburg to reverse-engineer and analyze complex legacy enterprise platforms. You will document current-state architecture, data flows, and interfaces, and support modernization efforts across migration and decommissioning initiatives.

The role requires strong analytical skills with experience in SQL Server, .NET/C#, Java components, and API integrations. Collaboration with multiple teams and governance adherence are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in systems/technical business analysis.
• Experience in legacy system analysis and reverse engineering.
• SQL Server and database analysis experience.
• Source code analysis capabilities.
• Data flow and dependency mapping.
• Familiar with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Batch and file-based integrations experience.
• UML/BPMN/ERD modeling skills.
• Strong requirements and technical documentation.
• Ability to translate findings into actionable specs.

Responsibilities

• Reverse-engineer legacy applications and identify business rules, processing logic, dependencies, and technical debt.
• Analyse .NET/C#, SQL Server, Java components, stored procedures, integrations, and configuration.
• Document current-state architecture, data flows, dependencies, interfaces, and system interactions.
• Produce business rules, data lineage, dependency maps, interface inventories, and as-is process models.
• Conduct impact, root-cause, data, and integration analysis.
• Translate technical findings into requirements, user stories, decision points, and actionable recommendations.
• Support migration, decomposition, remediation, and decommissioning initiatives.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, testers, business stakeholders, and platform teams.
• Support testing, validation, backlog refinement, and delivery planning.
• Maintain traceability, governance, risk, and auditability throughout the analysis lifecycle.
