Job Description

TheSenior Surveyoris responsible for data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting into information for Survey use as per the latest AAP Standards, Procedures and Survey Best Practice Guidelines.

Gathering Survey Data and represented electronically

  • Measuring underground excavations
  • Performing underground excavation measurements
  • Installing survey pegs
  • Installing direction lines and grades
  • Measuring excavations underground
  • Capturing data onto appropriate systems Administering effective information recording systems
  • Performing monthly production measuring
  • Gathering of Survey related data for other disciplines
  • Surveying dumps
  • Performing underground excavation measurements Identify and report on work related risks and hazards
  • Training of subordinates

AnalyzingSurvey Data

  • Reviewing appropriate reports and outputs for accuracy
  • Spatial checking of survey pegs
  • Checking of all Survey related attributes within the electronic environment
  • Analyze the latest design plan

Communicating Survey Information

  • Preparing appropriate reports and documentation
  • Preparing information for monetary purposes
  • Providing Survey information for updating of electronic plans
  • Issuing electronic survey instructions and notifications
  • Communicate Survey instructions on the latest approved design
  • Inter Departmental communication to ensure a successful electronic environment

Effective Teamwork

  • Ensuring teamwork expectations and plans are clear
  • Completing role administration requirements
  • Generating improvement ideas
  • Participating in meetings
  • Interacting with other teams and systems (PTO’s and safety requirements

This role is in the Technical - MRM Survey department at a band C5 level reporting to the Section Surveyor.

Qualifications

You will be required to have:

  • Grade 12 with minimum 50% in maths and science
  • Advanced Chamber of Mines Survey and Elementary Sampling, or National Higher Diploma
  • Advantageous: B Tech Mineral Resource Management
  • A minimum of 4 years survey experience
