Placements24, based in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, seeks a Principal Consultant to lead the Supply Chain & Logistics practice. You will drive strategic transformation programs, mentor a team of consultants, and act as a trusted advisor to senior client leadership.

The role requires deep industry knowledge, outstanding leadership, and a track record of delivering tangible logistics improvements for complex client portfolios across the Mossel Bay region and wider Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in SCM, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in supply chain consulting or a senior operations role within industry.
• Proven expertise in supply chain strategy, network design, inventory optimization, and logistics management.
• Strong understanding of supply chain technologies (e.g., WMS, TMS, ERP, planning software).
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects and manage client relationships at the executive level.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working within the Western Cape region, particularly with Mossel Bay area, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of supply chain and logistics transformation programs.
• Analyze current supply chain operations, identifying areas for optimization in procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
• Develop and deploy strategies to improve network design, reduce lead times, and enhance inventory turnover.
• Manage client engagements, ensuring project objectives are met on time and within budget.
• Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering their expertise in supply chain management.
• Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a go-to expert for supply chain challenges.
• Develop innovative solutions leveraging technology and best practices in logistics.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and present findings and recommendations to senior executives.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client acquisition.
