Job summary

RPO Recruitment’s client in Pretoria seeks an experienced Structural Technologist / Structural Designer to lead and deliver structural designs, models and construction documentation for diverse building projects.

You will coordinate with engineers, architects and project stakeholders, ensure compliance with South African codes, and contribute to timely, quality project delivery while working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BTech in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in structural engineering design in a consulting environment.
• Solid knowledge of structural design principles and detailing for building projects.
• Proficiency in relevant structural design and drafting software.
• Ability to produce accurate technical drawings, models and construction documentation.
• Strong understanding of South African codes and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop structural designs, models and construction documentation.
• Coordinate structural designs with engineers, architects and other stakeholders.
• Ensure deliverables comply with project requirements and standards.
• Review and coordinate project documentation throughout the design process.
• Provide technical support during planning and execution.
• Contribute to timely and budget-conscious delivery of projects.
