About the Role

Our client, a leading management consultancy with a strong focus on public sector reform, is seeking a seasoned Senior Strategy Consultant. This is a fully remote position, enabling you to leverage your expertise from your base in or near Bloemfontein, Free State . You will play a crucial role in advising government departments and public entities on strategic planning, organizational restructuring, service delivery improvement, and digital modernization. This role is vital for driving positive change and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of public services across South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of public sector dynamics and a passion for creating impactful, sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead engagements with public sector clients to define and implement strategic initiatives. Analyze the organizational structure, service delivery models, and operational processes of government entities. Develop strategic roadmaps for transformation, including digital and service improvement plans. Facilitate stakeholder workshops and consultations with public officials at various levels. Advise on policy implementation, governance frameworks, and performance management systems. Manage project teams and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality outcomes. Conduct research on best practices in public administration and policy reform globally. Prepare comprehensive reports, policy briefs, and presentations for senior government stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with key client contacts within the public sector. Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and supporting proposal development.

Requirements

Master's degree in Public Administration, Policy, Economics, Business, or a related field. Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in management consulting, public policy, or public sector advisory. Proven experience working with government agencies or public sector organizations. Strong understanding of public sector challenges, governance structures, and reform processes. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, tailored for a public sector audience. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and lead teams, ideally in a remote setting. Familiarity with digital government initiatives and service delivery technologies. Must be comfortable working remotely from Bloemfontein, Free State , with occasional travel if required.
