Job description

A vacancy exists for a Senior Stock Controller based at Life Carstenhof Hospital, reporting to the Senior Pharmacist.

The successful candidate will ensure effective management of stock in the pharmacy complex.

Critical Outputs
  • Managing the surgical stores department and/or theatre
  • Managing procurement, control, and distribution of surgical/consignment stock
  • Ensuring accurate receiving and receipting of surgical/consignment stock
  • Ordering and capturing prosthesis invoices and transfers to theatre
  • Implementing and maintaining the LHC formulary
  • Active involvement in stock-takes and cycle counts
  • Managing sales representatives and counting of consignment stock
  • Managing loan stock and requests for invoices
  • Managing dead stock and short-dated stock
  • Managing all relevant reports, e.g., negative stock, outstanding orders
  • Handling queries from relevant stakeholders
  • Ensuring a culture of quality and operational excellence
  • Performing general administrative functions as requested
  • Maintaining the stock room, including cleanliness and neatness of the pharmacy/theatre
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with doctors and staff
Requirements
  • Grade 12
  • Computer literacy
  • Effective communication skills
  • Responsible, mature, team player, reliable, trustworthy, customer-oriented, committed to continuous improvement
  • Good interpersonal skills; attention to detail; ability to work accurately under pressure
  • 5 years' experience in stock management
  • Private healthcare experience beneficial
