Our client is seeking a Senior SQL DBA to support data analysis and troubleshooting for issues raised from the applications.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operating SQL database platform and actively troubleshooting any issues impacting the environments as well as analysing error logs.
2. Analysing queries and advising on efficiency and improvements.
3. Identifying and resolving database locks and lack of statistics, resolving data structure issues, i.e. invalid objects, tables, partitions, constraints, and performing deploy patches as required.
4. Creating and maintaining SOPs.
5. Collaborating with DBAs, developers, vendors, and professionals to deliver quality service.
6. Performing as a subject matter expert for database implementations.
7. Automating operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with security requirements.
8. Providing service delivery in a timely and efficient manner.
9. Ensuring continuous support is provided.
10. Working with Incident Management, other support groups, and vendors to provide seamless support to customers.
11. Participating in project work as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications :

1. Grade 12.
2. Formal IT qualification (National Diploma / Certificate, CompTia, Microsoft or similar certification) or currently studying towards completing a Degree / Diploma or Certificate in IT.
3. ITIL v3 Foundation.
4. Microsoft Azure and Office.
5. Own car and Driver's License essential.
6. MCSA : SQL Servers onwards.
7. 5+ years' experience with MSSQL and PLSQL.
8. Sound knowledge of ITIL and SDLC.
9. Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently.
10. Expert knowledge of MSSQL from onwards.
11. Experience in MSSQL manager, performing SQL queries, and log management.
12. Experience with scripting and automation (Shell / Bash / PowerShell / PL / SQL / SQL / DBMS jobs).
