Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Event Operations Manager specializing in sports events to join our Randburg team. You will oversee all operational aspects—from venue logistics to staffing, vendor coordination, and budget management—for a range of sporting competitions.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 6 years in sports event operations, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering large-scale events safely and on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Sports Management, Hospitality, or related field.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in sports event operations management.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale sporting events.
• Exceptional leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of venue logistics, contract negotiation, and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute all operational aspects of assigned sports events from conception to completion.
• Manage event budgets, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and negotiating with vendors.
• Oversee venue logistics, including setup, breakdown, safety, and compliance with regulations.
• Recruit, train, and manage event staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operations.
• Develop and implement risk management and emergency response plans for all events.
