Role Purpose / Business Unit: To partner with sales and commercial teams to translate business decisions and transactions into project revenue and costs reported in the financial statements. To ensure data integrity across systems and reconcile variances. To provide robust financial analysis and business partnering support to the Project Team and Vodacom Business Sales, unlocking value while maintaining control governance. To report on project finances and manage month-end processing and reviews.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Managing project budgets, forecasting costs and revenue.
- Cost Accounting: Tracking and analyzing project costs against revenue.
- Financial Reporting: Developing project financial metrics, preparing reports, and presenting to stakeholders.
- Financial Risk Management: Identifying and managing risks like cost overruns or revenue shortfalls.
- Contract Management: Ensuring financial terms are adhered to and managing disputes.
- Cash Flow Management: Managing cash inflows and outflows to cover expenses.
- Invoicing and Billing: Managing invoicing processes and ensuring timely payments.
- Cost Management: Managing project costs as per budgets and work structures.
- Project Budget: Creating detailed budgets outlining expected costs and revenues.
- Monthly Financial Reports: Tracking financial performance against budgets, including variances.
- Cash Flow Projections: Forecasting cash inflows and outflows over time.
- Risk Assessments: Identifying financial risks and mitigation strategies.
- Financial Analysis: Analyzing finances to find cost savings and revenue opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (Essential)
- Understanding of IFRS (Essential)
- Advanced data analysis experience (Advantageous)
- Postgraduate or professional finance qualification (e.g., CA(SA)/CIMA) - highly advantageous
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, including 3+ years in industrial/engineering sectors
- Experience in public sector projects, mining, or power utilities (advantageous)
- Exposure to NEC3 contracts and technology/telco sectors (advantageous)
