Description

The Senior Specialist has advanced expertise and experience across the Middle Office deliverables, providing technical assistance, guidance and leadership support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees and optimizes operational processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  2. Provide solutions for complex client requirements including client engagement & testing.
  3. Partake in projects and provide support across all products and markets across the Middle Office teams.
  4. Assist with bespoke processes and the standardization of the Middle Office processes to enable the automation of processing trade volumes.
  5. Provide solutions for corrective actions identified from incidents and ensure successful implementation across the team.
  6. Manage project deliveries including end to end testing and implementation for the team.
  7. Manage Client onboarding and Client offboarding.
  8. Be the primary liaison with ICT regarding applications used by the Middle Office team.
  9. Be the primary liaison with external vendors, brokers and clients pertaining to Middle Office services.
  10. Liaise with market players to ensure successful confirmation and settlement of trades and payments.
  11. Build and maintain strong working relationships with external clients regarding matters pertaining to Middle Office activities.
  12. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal operations teams regarding matters pertaining to Middle Office activities.
  13. Work closely with the Client Management and Service Delivery teams to ensure clients receive the optimal service levels.
  14. Lead training applicable for the team.
  15. Perform the oversight function as and when required.
  16. Manage and co-ordinate the Middle Office team KPI deliveries.
  17. Align the team's strategy and KPIs to that of Investment Operations and the broader Apex Funds Services strategy.
  18. Responsible for managing risk by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk.
  19. Implementation & update of strict application access and process controls surrounding the use of NxManager.
  20. Responsibility for resolving issues that have been escalated by the team members.
  21. Assessing opportunities for improved efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and tools.
  22. Ensure that an SLA is in place and adhered to with external and internal clients.
  23. Improve the Middle Office processes and update process documents accordingly.

Skills Required

  1. BCom or similar tertiary business study, and at least 5 years' experience in Asset Management portfolio administration.
  2. Trade capturing experience across all products and markets.
  3. A high attention to detail and structured approach to work.
  4. Strong Asset Management middle office knowledge and experience.
  5. Sound knowledge and experience of back-office administration processes.
  6. Advanced level of experience in using Excel, Xceptor, NXM, InvestOne, OMGEO, STP and other related systems.
  7. Candidate needs to understand portfolio management processes and trading lifecycles.
  8. Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
  9. Confident & enthusiastic, and able to work under pressure.
