Job description

Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) :

• Data Collection & Storage : Managing the collection and storage of historical data ensuring accuracy / accessible.
• Issue Resolution : Troubleshooting and resolving any issues with the data historian system promptly.
• Data Integrity : Maintaining the accuracy and consistency of stored historical data.
• User Support : Providing assistance to users who need help accessing historical data.
• Security and Compliance : Ensuring data security measures are in place and that data handling practices comply with regulations.
• System Integration : Integrating the data historian system with other IT systems to streamline data flow / accessibility.
• Performance Optimization : Monitoring system performance and making improvements to enhance efficiency and data retrieval speeds.
• Ensuring that decisions and direction are aligned with the security policies and rules
• Oversee the development of project plans and teamwork assignments direct and monitor work efforts on a daily basis identify resource needs perform quality review; and escalate functional quality timeline issues appropriately
• Analyse business partners operations to determine opportunities to streamline or digitise processes
• Ensure effective reporting of all highlights cost savings challenges and focus areas
• Ensure the delivery of new services and systems are sustainable by executing service introduction processes in conjunction with the applications and infrastructure teams
• Manage alignment between stakeholders regarding technology selection
• Participate in the annual budget process to include all relevant budget items for effective delivery
• Managing third party vendors and ensuring they are meeting or exceeding their contractual commitments for services and projects.

Qualifications :

• An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree / Diploma or equivalent) in relevant Engineering or IM Discipline
• It would be advantageous to have a postgraduate qualification in the related IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity.

Experience

• 5 7 years working experience

Technical knowledge(experience) required for role :

• Experience in managing technology projects related to historian solutions implementations upgrades or optimizations
• Experience working with and maintaining OSIsoft PI systems
• Experience with objectoriented / object function scripting languages such as Java C Python etc.
• Experience with relational SQL databases including SSIS and SSRS Experience with reporting applications such as PowerBI Tableau etc. wouldbe preferred
• Experience in minerals processing covering concentrating smelting and refining would be preferred
• Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS Azure etc
