POSITION : Senior Spa Therapist

LOCATION : Pepperclub Hotel Spa

REPORTING TO : Spa Manager

DIRECT REPORTS : Spa Therapists

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To support the Spa Manager in the smooth and efficient running of daily operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience, professional team performance, and a high standard of service delivery. The Senior Spa Therapist acts as the second-in-command, overseeing therapist scheduling, reception coordination, and quality control, while also performing treatments and driving revenue growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Spa Manager in overseeing daily spa operations, including treatment schedules, stock control, room readiness, and guest flow.

Lead by example in delivering treatments and maintaining service excellence across all guest touchpoints.

Supervise, guide, and mentor the spa therapist team to ensure consistent performance and high morale.

Support with recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of therapists.

Conduct regular treatment audits, ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, protocol, and guest experience standards.

Handle guest queries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.

Drive treatment and retail sales by coaching therapists on upselling techniques and product knowledge.

Collaborate with the Spa Manager on promotional activities, marketing efforts, and guest retention strategies.

Step in to oversee full operations in the absence of the Spa Manager.

Contribute ideas for improvement and innovation in guest offerings and team productivity.

REQUIREMENTS

Diploma in Somatology or equivalent qualification (minimum 2-year course).

At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or senior therapist role.

Previous experience in a hotel spa or luxury spa environment is an advantage.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.

Excellent treatment knowledge and hands-on experience.

Comfortable working under pressure and managing a busy operation.
