About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding IT consulting firm, is seeking a dynamic Senior Solutions Architect specializing in Infrastructure to join their team in Tembisa, Gauteng . This role is central to designing and delivering robust, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure solutions for a diverse clientele. You will engage with clients to understand their unique challenges and architecting tailored solutions involving on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate possesses a deep technical understanding of infrastructure components, a strategic mindset, and excellent client-facing skills. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive infrastructure solutions, including servers, storage, networking, and virtualization.
• Architect and deploy cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Develop strategies for disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability.
• Assess existing client infrastructures and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Lead the technical aspects of client engagements, from discovery to solution delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and proposals.
• Stay abreast of emerging infrastructure technologies and industry trends.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior infrastructure engineers.
• Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure design and architecture.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization.
• Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Familiarity with storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and data protection strategies.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong client‑facing and presentation skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, AWS/Azure infrastructure certifications) are highly desirable.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
