Job summary

Catalyst24 is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and architecture of software systems in Cape Town, South Africa. You will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and provide technical leadership and hands-on development support.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of software development experience, strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, cloud/container technologies, and experience with PHP, Java, Go, or Python.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, and cloud/container tech.
• Experience with PHP (Laravel/Lumen), Java, GoLang, or Python.
• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Redis, and RabbitMQ/SQS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and execute software systems addressing business needs.
• Define all aspects of software development from standards to workflows.
• Identify areas to improve processes and system architecture.
• Provide architectural blueprints and technical leadership to IT teams.
• Evaluate tools and processes to ensure high-quality product platforms.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate ideas into technical solutions.
• Stay updated on industry technology trends.
• Review code and contribute hands-on coding when needed (PHP, Java, Go, Python).
• Conduct architectural reviews to ensure alignment with specifications.
