Introduction
We need a temporary appointment (6 months) for an experienced SF Supervisor in the Maintenance department with practical experience on a CSP plant. This person must have strong leadership skills to drive a team that is currently underperforming, possess strong planning skills, be results-driven, and able to deal with potential union influences.
Duties & Responsibilities
During plant pre-start-up phase
- Participate in plant commissioning activities, attend training sessions, learn HSSEQ policies and procedures, review vendors’ documents, maintenance manuals, and spare parts lists, draft maintenance procedures necessary for plant operations, and participate in SAP-PM development and implementation.
During plant operational phase
- Enforce HSSE and Quality policies and procedures, ensure all measures are strictly followed during maintenance activities to prevent incidents/nonconformities.
- Manage subordinates and contractors, guide, supervise, and assume responsibility for the performance of the Solar Field Maintenance personnel.
- Ensure individual development.
- Perform frequent on-site inspections to oversee work execution and technician activities.
- Supervise mechanical day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting activities, determine failure causes, and manage repairs.
- Supervise workshop activities and coordinate with Maintenance Contractors for work execution.
- Manage and coordinate maintenance activities with planners, ensure availability of required materials, and proper documentation in SAP-PM.
- Participate in plant performance and cost reduction initiatives by identifying design or installation defects and proposing modifications.
- Reduce equipment downtime and improve plant availability through trend analysis and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing maintenance budgets, cost estimates, purchase orders, and contracts.
- Monitor maintenance costs and take corrective actions to stay within budgets.
- Ensure contractors have necessary resources and tools for maintenance tasks.
- Evaluate reports on maintenance progress and costs, and communicate findings to management.
- Recommend new maintenance plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Review spare parts inventory and stock levels.
- Participate in scheduled shutdowns and turnarounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

- Take initiative to resolve issues efficiently, involving relevant parties as needed.
- Work closely with technicians and contractors to ensure efficient and high-quality maintenance activities.
- Communicate with internal departments and external contractors regarding maintenance activities.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience and education.
- No specific certification required; a driving license is necessary.
- Proficient in SAP-PM usage by mechanical team and contractors.
Experience:
- At least 5 years in mechanical/electrical maintenance in continuous process plants, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
- Hands-on experience with pressure pipework, hydraulic systems, static equipment, steel structures, civil and facilities maintenance, and vehicle maintenance.
Skills:
- Proactive, self-motivated, capable of multitasking.
- Team player with interpersonal skills for development, team building, and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
- Proficient with PC software and CMMS, able to produce technical reports and procedures.
- Good command of English, both oral and written.
