We are looking for a skilled and driven Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our team in Cape Town (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite at Pinelands office).

In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and implementing robust automated testing solutions, actively contributing to agile delivery, and integrating quality practices into the CI/CD pipeline. You’ll bring strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset to help deliver high-quality, reliable software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and integration layers.
• Design, enhance, and maintain test automation frameworks for scalable and maintainable testing.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, refinement, and quality-related discussions.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid feedback and efficient deployments.
• Analyse test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers to drive timely resolutions.
• Continuously improve test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Contribute to quality strategies and promote best practices in test automation and quality engineering.
• (Advantageous) Contribute to performance and security testing initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
• ISEB / ISTQB Certification
• Additional course or certification in Quality Engineering

Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in test automation, covering:
  • UI testing
  • API testing
  • Integration testing
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in Playwright using JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and active participation in sprint activities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills.
• Advantageous: Experience in performance testing and security testing.
