GJM Ultra Brokers is urgently looking for a Short-term Insurance Internal / Key Accounts Broker.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal / Key Accounts Broker to manage a portfolio of existing clients through proactive underwriting and administrative support.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in underwriting, preferably within a brokerage environment, and be proficient in handling both personal and commercial lines insurance.

This role is office-based / inbound and does not involve external client visits.

Remuneration:

Competitive basic salary (Up to a maximum of R22 CTC depending on experience and qualifications). Note: No additional employee benefits such as pension or medical aid are included.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Matric (Grade 12) certificate
  2. RE5 certification (compulsory)
  3. Minimum 2 years of underwriting experience
  4. Experience in both personal and commercial lines underwriting
  5. Strong interpersonal, administrative, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage an assigned portfolio of approximately clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  2. Maintain proactive communication with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide appropriate solutions.
  3. Monitor and manage unpaid premiums, ensuring timely follow-ups and resolution.
  4. Liaise with clients and insurers to resolve outstanding payment issues.
  5. Proactively manage policy renewal processes, ensuring policies are reviewed, updated, and renewed in a timely manner.
  6. Prepare and present renewal terms and alternatives, conducting risk assessments and portfolio reviews.
  7. Implement effective client retention strategies, reducing lapse rates and maintaining portfolio value.
  8. Process policy endorsements efficiently and accurately, including changes in cover, asset details, or client information.
  9. Maintain precise records and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines.
  10. Conduct general underwriting duties, including risk assessments and rating.
  11. Provide competitive quotes for new business opportunities within the existing portfolio.
  12. Source and compare quotes from multiple insurance providers (re-broking) when necessary to ensure optimal cover and pricing.
  13. Conduct a minimum of 25 client meetings per day via Zoom or telephonic consultation to discuss policy details, renewals, endorsements, and cover adjustments.
  14. Provide clear and professional advice on cover options, excess structures, policy terms, and risk exposures.
  15. Manage policy cancellations, including conducting exit interviews and offering retention solutions where possible.
  16. Coordinate tracking device installations for vehicle insurance requirements.
  17. Arrange valuation services when required to ensure adequate sums insured.
  18. Process refunds promptly and accurately, in line with company and insurer guidelines.
  19. Maintain compliance with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
