Job summary

Goldman Tech Resourcing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Pretoria-based development team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate has extensive software engineering experience across back-end and full-stack development and a track record of delivering robust solutions.

Responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining software, and guiding AI coding agents in the workflow while building RESTful APIs and working with relational databases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of solid software development experience.
• Strong back-end and full-stack development experience.
• Experience with Java, NodeJS, TypeScript or Python.
• Experience directing AI coding agents as part of development.
• University degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, diligent and self-starting approach.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and enhance robust software solutions.
• Contribute to back-end and full-stack development initiatives.
• Apply sound software engineering principles throughout the development lifecycle.
• Direct AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor within the development workflow.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Work with relational databases and version-control systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
• Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Communicate effectively and contribute proactively to technical discussions and initiatives.
