Job summary

ATS Client in Cape Town seeks a Senior Software Developer to drive fintech/mobile payments initiatives. You will design and build cloud services in AWS, develop frontend and native apps, and ensure robust external integrations.

The role emphasizes ownership, resilience, and cross-functional collaboration in a startup fintech environment. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of software development experience, proficiency in JavaScript and Python, and strong knowledge of FastAPI, Vue.js, and AWS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/Engineering or related field.
• Experience of 6+ years in software development.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and Python with frontend/backend frameworks.
• Familiarity with FastAPI and Vue.js, AWS, DB management, and external integrations.
• Strong problem solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• DevOps familiarity with test-driven development and cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build across our tech stacks: develop cloud services in AWS with Terraform and Python, create front-ends with various JavaScript frameworks, Android native apps, and Zoho Creator apps.
• Own commercial outcomes and drive value beyond coding.
• Empathize with end users across different technology experiences in-country.
• Coach and mentor teammates to improve practices and culture.
• Advise on architecture and DevOps for long-term resilience and efficiency.
