The Boeing Company is looking for a Real Time Software Engineer (Experienced, Senior) for a Phantom Works Proprietary program located in Berkeley, MO. This position focuses on developing Vehicle Management System (VMS) software to support the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The Vehicle Management System provides flight and subsystem control for the platform.

We are hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Software Engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Develop and maintain software development plans, verification plans, test procedures and test environments; execute test procedures and document results to ensure software system requirements are met.
  • Provide technical leadership for software projects.
  • Support and maintain software processes, tools and metrics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.
  • Track and evaluate software team progress to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.
  • Train and mentor others.
  • Work under general direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 5+ years of experience with C/C++
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing software for Real-Time or Non-Real-Time systems
  • 5+ years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • 3+ years of experience in Safety Critical Software Development
Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 7+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Real-time embedded software experience
  • Agile software development
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, DO-178C
  • Python, C# and/or Assembly experience
  • Experience with Green Hills Integrity or other Real-Time Operating Systems
  • Experience with fault tolerance, signal processing or control system design
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, ClearCase and Git
