Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer focused on backend systems to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead API development, database management, and cloud integration while mentoring junior engineers.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience with strong backend focus.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or C#.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience designing scalable microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong Git version control skills.

• Eligible to work in South Africa and reside within commuting distance of Randburg.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve backend software systems and services.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient RESTful APIs.
• Develop and manage database schemas and optimize query performance for various database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices.

Requirements
