Job summary

Acuity Consultants is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to spearhead the design, development and deployment of new web and mobile applications for Africa’s leading automotive platform in Johannesburg. The role is hybrid, Johannesburg-based with a significant impact across our platform.

You will work with Next.js on the frontend, Laravel on the backend, and manage containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes while shaping architecture, performance, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full stack software development experience (web and mobile).
• Strong Laravel backend and Next.js frontend development skills.
• Hands-on AWS experience.
• Docker and Kubernetes deployment experience.
• React Native, Flutter or PWA development experience.
• Automated testing and CI/CD experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Full Stack Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of brand-new web & mobile applications for Africa’s leading automotive platform.

This Senior Full Stack Developer role is Johannesburg-based (hybrid) with a CTC of up to R1,1 million per year.

THE COMPANY

This company powers Africa’s leading automotive marketplace, journalism and consumer platform, combining vehicle listings with independent editorial content and practical buying advice. Consumers can research, compare and make informed decisions within the same platform.

Its engineering team tackles the technical challenges behind that experience: fast search, responsive interfaces, reliable APIs and scalable infrastructure. Working closely with the CTO, developers shape the architecture, build features across web and mobile, and influence how the team develops, tests and deploys its applications.

THE ROLE

As Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and deployment of the company’s web and mobile platforms. Reporting to the CTO, you’ll contribute to application architecture, build Next.js interfaces and Laravel APIs, and manage containerised deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

You’ll also optimise performance and security through Cloudflare, strengthen automated testing and CI/CD, and mentor intermediate developers through code reviews and technical guidance.
