Utility Computing (UC) — AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations from foundational services such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to newly released product innovations that set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.
This position involves on-call responsibilities. This is typically once every 6 weeks. We don’t like to be paged unnecessarily and we strive to keep this down and ensure our systems are fault tolerant. Our team values work-life balance and respect each other’s time.
A successful Software Development Engineer will have good design skills, excellent problem-solving ability, good communication skills, and a desire to be a key technical contributor. The software you will be responsible for will require a breadth of technical development knowledge (e.g., distributed systems, synchronous API orchestration, scalability, availability).
