Senior Software Developer

The purpose of this position is to provide business and system analysis and programming expertise in the analysis, design, and development of business applications based on PeopleSoft/Oracle’s development stack, including maintenance of existing applications in the organisation to ensure their continued effective and efficient functioning to support evolving business processes.

Minimum Requirements

This position requires a minimum qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree (NQF level 7) in Information Technology or Computer Science.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in systems analysis, software development, or related technical experience.

Experience developing using the PeopleSoft or any ERP development experience (e.g., Oracle Fusion/SAP/SAGE/Microsoft Dynamics 365). Tool set: Application Designer, Application Engine, Component Interfaces, People Code, Application packages, and Integration Broker.

PeopleSoft or any ERP development experience, including implementation, system integration, and support.

Must be located within a commutable distance to Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

• Designs complex software applications, components, and modules.
• Uses appropriate modelling techniques following agreed software design standards, guidelines, patterns, and methodology.
• Creates and communicates multiple design views to balance stakeholders’ concerns and to satisfy functional and non-functional requirements.
• Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends, and refactors complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
• Contributes to the selection of the software development methods, tools, and techniques.
• Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve well-engineered outcomes.
• Participates in reviews of own work and leads reviews of colleagues’ work.
• Takes technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development.
• Plans and drives software construction activities.
• Defines problem definitions for application development.
• Formulates and defines application scope and objectives.
• Devises and modifies procedures to solve business problems.
• Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be developed, tested, debugged, and documented.
• Provides technical expertise to the business analyst regarding system requirements and solutions.
• Develops business applications to meet business requirements while complying with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management life cycle methodologies by participating in scope assessment, risk, and cost analysis.
