Job summary
A leading construction service provider in Cape Town is seeking a skilled Site Engineer to manage and coordinate site teams and subcontractors, ensuring project targets are met. The ideal candidate should possess a National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Building Science or Civil Engineering, along with 6–8 years’ experience in the construction industry, including 3 years in a senior role. Candidates should also have strong technical, communication, leadership, and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft tools and construction regulations.
Qualifications
6–8 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Minimum of 3 years in a senior role.
SACPCMP registration is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Manage site teams by assigning tasks and monitoring output.
Manage subcontractors and trades on site.
Prepare and maintain project targets in line with master programmes.
Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams.
Lead regular site meetings and safety committee meetings.
Update project programmes and create short-term schedules.
Ensure teams work with correct, up-to-date information.
Identify and resolve technical queries.
Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Working knowledge of CCS planning and estimating software
Familiar with Construction Regulations and building contracts/specifications
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Effective team leadership and collaboration abilities
Excellent attention to detail
Strong communication skills
Education
