Placements24 seeks a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer to manage and oversee construction projects in Vereeniging. This hands-on role requires strong technical aptitude and leadership to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality project execution on site.

You will be responsible for problem-solving, quality control, and supervising site operations while working closely with project managers and contractors in the Gauteng region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum 7 years of site engineering experience.
• PE/PrEng registration desirable (not mandatory).
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving abilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer to play a critical role in managing and overseeing various construction projects in Vereeniging . This hands-on position requires a strong technical aptitude and leadership capability to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for technical problem-solving, quality control, and supervising site operations, working closely with project managers and contractors. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications and engineering standards.
• Manage and mentor junior site engineers and technical staff on the project.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental protocols on site.
• Monitor construction progress, conduct quality inspections, and ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards.
• Liaise with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure timely delivery of project elements.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and method statements to ensure constructability and accuracy.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in site engineering, with a proven track record in managing construction operations.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and site management practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills for effective site management in Vereeniging.
