As a Senior Server Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organization's server infrastructure, enabling efficient operations and supporting business objectives.

iOCO Infrastructure Services invites you to explore possibilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Server Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. As a Senior Server Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the organization's server infrastructure, enabling efficient operations and supporting business objectives.

What you'll do :

• Ensure all systems are online, accessible, and operating under correct load parameters defined by the client and operational team.
• Complete and distribute Daily Check reports across all supported environments.
• Ensure all escalations are actioned and production is returned to a normal state within the SLA time frame.
• Lead in situations of major outages with strong problem-solving skills.
• Limit the number of recurring/reopened calls to ensure user satisfaction with the service provision.
• Monitor and respond to alerts generated by monitoring systems.
• Manage remediation of calls within client-defined SLA.
• Ensure no calls are over 10 working days; escalate calls over this duration for closure and update calls regularly with relevant details.
• Meet all deadlines as set.
• Adhere to Change Management and Incident Management Processes.
• Provide input into monthly SLA documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting supported tooling software technologies.
• Conduct comparison checks to ensure hypervisor software version compliance.
• Research emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in supported OS.
• Assess client infrastructure and applications against standards and best practices.
• Perform addition/removal of virtual machines as instructed.
• Configure and manage user profiles/access roles on hypervisors.
• Ensure capacity management for VM/physical capacity.
• Apply and update security hardening policies as per client policies.
• Ensure patch compliance and troubleshoot patch failures.
• Assist in planning new hypervisor deployments with correct specifications and recommendations.
• Audit client environments to ensure standards and best practices are met.
• Plan and deploy MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, and Office 365 mail configurations, including upgrades.

Your expertise :

• 5+ Years OS and VMware/HyperV experience
• 3+ Years AD and Exchange/O365 experience
• 5+ Years IT Experience
• Experience managing HP/Dell/EMC storage

Qualifications required :

• MCSE / MCTIP
• A+, N+
• ITIL Foundation V3 / 4
• HyperV / VMware Certifications
• VEEAM Backup & Replication
• Cloud Technology Certifications (preferably VMware and Azure)
• Technical IT Qualification
• HP / Dell / EMC / Pure Storage Hardware Data Centre Certifications
