Placements24 is seeking a Senior SOC Analyst to join its Security Operations Center in Bloemfontein. You will monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and lead root cause analysis to strengthen defenses.

You will work with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, ELK), develop playbooks, mentor junior analysts, and participate in threat hunting. A strong cybersecurity background and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.
• 4–6 years in SOC or IR role.
• Strong proficiency with SIEM tools and monitoring tech.
• Knowledge of network protocols, OS, and attack vectors.
• IR methodologies and forensics basics.
• Certs such as Security+, CEH, GIAC are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and network traffic.
• Lead investigations into security incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
