Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead Information Security Analyst to guide the SOC in Bloemfontein. The role oversees daily security monitoring, incident response, and mentoring junior analysts, shaping security processes and detection techniques across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in information security, strong SIEM expertise (Splunk, QRadar), and proven leadership in managing complex incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in information security with a focus on security operations and incident response.
• Expertise in SIEM technologies (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and security monitoring tools.
• Demonstrated experience in leading security teams and managing complex security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the SOC team, providing guidance and technical expertise.
• Oversee monitoring of security alerts, analyzing threats and coordinating incident response.
• Develop and enhance detection rules, correlation logic, and incident response playbooks.
