Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Security Engineer for a remote-first role. You will design, implement, and manage security controls across cloud and on‑premises environments, ensuring the protection of digital assets and data in a globally distributed team.

You will lead incidents, conduct assessments, and enforce policies while working with engineering to embed security into the SDLC. A strong background in IAM, cryptography, and security frameworks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/Cybersecurity.
• 6+ years of cybersecurity engineering experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of network, cloud security, cryptography and IAM.
• Experience with security assessment tools and methodologies.
• Scripting for security automation (Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with NIST, ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks.
• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, leading containment and recovery efforts.
• Implement and manage security monitoring tools, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.

• Proficiency in scripting for security automation (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Strong understanding of security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, or SOC 2.
