Job description

Primary Purpose: Facilitate the successful delivery of projects by guiding Agile teams, removing obstacles, and promoting continuous improvement. Oversee multiple teams or coach other Scrum Masters, ensuring Agile principles are consistently applied across the organization.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Deep knowledge of Scrum and other Agile frameworks; Ability to use Agile metrics for performance tracking, reporting, and forecasting; Experience with tools like Jira, DevOps, and other Agile tools; Skilled in facilitating Scrum ceremonies, Agile workshops, and bootcamps; Ability to manage cross-team coordination; Ability to mentor teams and Scrum Masters to improve Agile maturity; Ability to lead Agile transformation and cultural change initiatives; Ability to proactively identify, manage, and resolve delivery risks.

Required Minimum Education and Training: IT-related Degree (e.g., Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology) and Certified Scrum Master / Advanced Certified Scrum Master certification.

Required Minimum Work Experience: 5 years of deep practical Scrum Master experience.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA):

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Understand budget planning, forecasting, and cost control in Agile delivery; ensure delivery within scope and budget.
  • Contribute to cost-effective delivery by optimizing team capacity and managing resource allocation.
  • Support budgeting processes by forecasting sprint costs and tracking team expenses.
  • Ensure delivery timelines align with financial objectives and business cases.
CUSTOMER CENTRICITY
  • Align team objectives with customer needs, foster feedback loops, and deliver product value.
  • Partner with Product Owners/Business Analysts to prioritize backlog based on customer and business value.
  • Advocate for customer voice in sprint planning and reviews.
  • Drive delivery of features that enhance user experience and meet market demands.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Promote standardization, efficiency, and continuous improvement in Agile processes.
  • Support backlog prioritization, planning, and review sessions.
PEOPLE LEADERSHIP
  • Coach, motivate, and mentor team members; support well-being and conflict resolution.
  • Manage resource planning to meet service demands.
  • Ensure employee motivation and development.
  • Implement internal controls and delegations for accountability.
  • Inspire and engage employees with the vision and strategy.
DATA MANAGEMENT
  • Use data and Agile metrics to guide decisions and improve performance.
  • Maintain dashboards and reports reflecting progress.
  • Collaborate to ensure backlog data reflects current priorities.
  • Support audits and reviews with accurate records.
  • Maintain data integrity for metrics.
STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders; ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Serve as liaison within IT and other divisions, including external stakeholders.
  • Ensure visibility of team progress through reports and dashboards.
  • Clarify user stories, acceptance criteria, and value propositions.
  • Manage risks, blockers, and scope changes proactively.
  • Align stakeholder expectations with delivery timelines and priorities.
REPORTING
  • Provide accurate, timely reports on team performance, impediments, and risks.
  • Analyze and report on delivery metrics; recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate insights and action plans based on reports.
LEARNING AND GROWTH
  • Encourage upskilling and Agile learning; foster a development environment and psychological safety.
