TO QUALIFY TO JOIN OUR SENIOR SCHOOL TEAM AS A HISTORY TEACHER YOU WOULD:

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience teaching Senior School History (pref. Grades 8 to 12) in a similar school environment to St John’s D.S.G., preferably with IEB experience and conversant in IEB SAGS and CAPS.
  • Have a Bachelor of Education, or a similar 4-year Senior / FET qualification in History, with PGCE.
  • Have experience teaching other subjects (preferable)
  • Be warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic and kind.
  • Have excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Have strong values that align to the Christian ethos of the school.
  • Have a high level of computer competency and be willing to learn new systems.
  • Have a clear criminal clearance certificate.
  • Be SACE registered.
