Placements24 seeks a Senior Sanitation Engineer for a hybrid role in Sandton, Gauteng. You will design and optimize sanitation systems, develop SOPs, and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure product integrity and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a strong engineering background, knowledge of CIP and FDA/local regulations, CAD proficiency, and experience with process simulation. Travel to the Sandton site may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience in sanitation design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of sanitary design, CIP, and FDA/local regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with CAD software for design and drafting.
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Hybrid work environment experience and ability to travel to Sandton.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement sanitation systems for manufacturing processes.
• Optimize sanitation processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and SOPs for sanitation equipment.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for sanitation and contamination control.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex sanitation engineering problems.
• Stay current with industry best practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships for sanitation equipment and services.
• Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel.
• Perform remote analysis and on-site validation and implementation.
