A leading company is seeking an Industrial Chemical and Industrial Mineral Sales Representative in Johannesburg. This role involves expanding the Boron customer base, frequent customer communications, and managing the sales process from start to finish. Ideal candidates should possess sales experience in the Minerals or Chemical sectors and have strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen focus on customer satisfaction and collaboration across teams.
Primary duties and tasks Maintain and service the existing Boron customer base.
Expand the Boron customer base.
Expand the product offering into the customer base, with a focus on Industrial Minerals- and -chemicals.
Frequent communication with customers by email, phone call and face to face visits Conduct research and analyze and apply market information obtained to pro-actively expand customer base.
Monitoring customers demands, buying habits, determine forecasts and create strategic approaches to accommodate for it.
Monitor suppliers, import and export trends and market price.
Where possible negotiate contacts with customers within the limits of authority Compile and present quotes Successfully negotiate commercial terms with customers Facilitate the sales process from beginning to end with other staff members.
Attend to stock takes.
Quality : Collection and delivery of samples Closely work with Operations in Turkey to execute export orders.
The Industrial Chemical and Industrial Mineral Sales Representative will visit KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape at least once per quarter with the aim at regional customer base expansion.
Focus products : Boron Sulphur Other products as agreed by management.
The ideal candidate is required to have the following experience and skills : Matric / Gr 12 Any tertiary education is an advantage years sales / trade experience in Minerals / Chemical sector highly advantageous.
Fluent in English Excellent command of MS Office applications Strong analytical skills, strategic and customer focused mindset Effective in internal and external communication and across various cultures Team player, solution oriented, flexible an has the ability to multi-task Advanced planning, organization, and coordination skills Knowledge of logistics and operations Knowledge to selling across the African Continent An understanding of import / export principles
