Placements24 is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer for our client in Vereeniging, Gauteng. The role focuses on design, development and deployment of software for robotic systems, with emphasis on perception, planning, control and human-robot interaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Robotics, EE or related field.
• 5+ years in robotics software development.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Strong knowledge of kinematics, dynamics and control theory.
• Experience with OpenCV and SLAM algorithms.
• Familiarity with software development best practices including Git and testing.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust software for robotic platforms.
• Implement algorithms for perception, localization, mapping, and path planning.
• Develop and integrate control systems for manipulators and mobile platforms.
• Work with ROS and other robotics middleware.
• Optimize software performance and ensure reliability and safety.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements.
• Develop simulation environments for testing robotics software.
• Document software designs and system architectures.
