Placements24 is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join their AI & Emerging Technologies team in Upington, Northern Cape. You will develop software for advanced robotic systems, integrate AI algorithms, and enable autonomous or semi-autonomous operation.

This hybrid role offers exposure to cutting-edge robotics projects, collaboration with hardware engineers, and the chance to contribute to the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of robotics software development experience.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with ROS or similar robotics frameworks.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts for robotics (path planning, computer vision, reinforcement learning).
• Experience with control systems and embedded software development.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement software for robotic systems (control, navigation, perception).
• Integrate AI/ML algorithms into robotic platforms for autonomy.
• Develop and maintain simulation environments for testing robotics software.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for software-hardware integration.
• Debug and resolve complex software issues in real-time robotic applications.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
