Placements24 is seeking a Senior Retail Architect in Bloemfontein to lead design for flagship stores, shopping centers and pop-ups. You will drive projects from concept through site supervision, mentor junior staff, and ensure brand alignment and commercial viability.

You bring 8+ years in retail architecture, SACAP registration or in progress, and strong client collaboration to deliver innovative environments that enhance shopper experiences and sales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8 years of professional architectural experience with retail focus.
• Demonstrated success leading complex retail projects.
• Strong portfolio of innovative and commercial retail designs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for retail projects including shopping centers and flagship stores.
• Engage with clients to understand brand objectives and commercial goals.
• Develop innovative concepts, space plans and customer journey strategies.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, specifications and presentation materials.
• Collaborate with branding, visual merchandising and marketing teams for cohesive outcomes.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and consultant coordination from inception to completion.
• Conduct site visits and provide construction administration support.
• Stay updated on global retail design trends and materials.
• Mentor and guide junior staff involved in retail design projects.
• Ensure designs comply with building codes, accessibility standards and safety regulations.
