A leading consulting engineering firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Resident Engineer to oversee the on-site delivery of a major water and sanitation infrastructure project in Gauteng. This 16-month contract role offers the opportunity to lead a site-based team and ensure the successful implementation of civil works valued over R7.5 million per project.
Lead day-to-day site construction monitoring and manage site personnel.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, health & safety, and environmental requirements.
Oversee contract administration, including issuing site instructions, variation orders, and payment certificates.
Monitor training, empowerment, and community engagement aspects.
Track progress, maintain records, and compile completion reports and certificates.
Maintain the project’s Quality Management System and ensure adherence to specifications and contract conditions (GCC 2015 / FIDIC).
BSc / BEng / BTech / Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering.
Registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA.
At least 10 years’ post-qualification experience , including five large-scale water / sewer pipeline projects (R7.5M+).
Proven experience in reinforced concrete water / wastewater retaining structures.
Familiar with construction materials, methods, and supervision protocols for bulk pipelines, reservoirs, and treatment infrastructure.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and MS Project .
Strong leadership, time management, and communication skills.
