Job summary

Placements24 seeks a seasoned Resident Engineer to provide on-site construction oversight for major infrastructure projects in Mossel Bay. You will be the primary on-site contact, leading site supervision teams, resolving technical issues and ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, ECSA Pr. Eng or Incorporated Engineer registration, and a minimum of 7 years' experience in construction supervision and project management on

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng or Incorporated Engineer.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction supervision and project management on infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage all on-site construction activities with adherence to plans, specifications and safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of workmanship and material compliance.
Review and approve contractor submissions including method statements, shop drawings and material data.
Identify and resolve site-specific technical issues and discrepancies promptly.
Manage the site supervision team including engineers, inspectors and surveyors.
Verify contractor claims for progress payments and manage variations to the contract.
