Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for a hybrid role based in Upington, Northern Cape. You will lead detailed technical evaluation and planning of field development projects, forecast production, and recommend optimal strategies to maximize asset value.

The role requires strong analytical skills, extensive reservoir engineering experience, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Regular office presence at Upington is expected under the hybrid policy.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in reservoir engineering with a focus on field development planning.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation and production forecasting tools.
• Experience with reserves reporting (e.g., SEC, PRMS) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated field development plans based on reservoir analysis and simulations.
• Perform production forecasting and economic evaluations for development scenarios.
• Assess optimal well placement, completion strategies, and production enhancement techniques.
• Conduct reservoir studies including material balance and decline curve analyses.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling, and production engineers to define scope and execution plans.
• Contribute to reserves estimation and reporting in line with industry standards.
• Evaluate new technologies for field development and production optimization.

This hybrid role, based in Upington, Northern Cape , will involve the detailed technical evaluation and planning of field development projects. You will be responsible for forecasting production, evaluating reservoir potential, and recommending optimal development strategies to maximize asset value. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, extensive experience in reservoir engineering, and a proven ability to contribute effectively to multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, petrophysics, and geological concepts.
• Experience with economic evaluation software and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage project timelines.
• Experience with reserves reporting (e.g., SEC, PRMS) is highly desirable.
• Must be able to work from the Upington, Northern Cape office on a regular basis as per the hybrid work policy.
