Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The role involves leading the concept, design, and implementation of complex mechanical systems, working autonomously in a virtual environment.

You will develop 3D CAD models, BOMs, perform stress/thermal/vibration analyses, mentor junior engineers remotely, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions on cutting-edge projects.

Competenze

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team and contribute to cutting-edge projects from anywhere. This role involves leading the conceptualization, design, and implementation of complex mechanical systems, requiring a deep understanding of engineering principles and a passion for innovation. You will work autonomously, collaborating with virtual teams to solve challenging problems and develop robust solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for complex projects, from initial concept through to production readiness.
• Develop detailed 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Perform advanced engineering calculations, including stress analysis , thermal analysis, and vibration analysis.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, in a virtual environment.
• Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to ensure design feasibility, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Oversee prototype testing and validation, analyze results, and implement necessary design revisions.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and FEA/CFD simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers in a remote capacity.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a strong emphasis on independent work.
